“…He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners…and to provide for those who grieve in Zion-to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.  The will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”

This scripture has always been the basis on which Vanessa pursued counseling as a profession and as a ministry.  It seems to illustrate God’s heart toward those who are hurting, confused, and without comfort.  It shows that there is hope for relief from depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, addictions and other mood disorders that can be incredibly binding.  It also reveals that there is no shame in bringing those things that bind us to the Lord in exchange for freedom. 
Vanessa moved to New Mexico in August 2007 from Orlando, Florida.  Vanessa has a BA in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and an MA in Professional Counseling from Liberty University.  She has worked with individuals struggling with addictions, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and self-esteem issues.  She has also worked with couples to strengthen their marriage, resolve conflict appropriately, and improve communication skills.
