Depression
If you experience the following symptoms during the same two week period, treatment for clinical depression may be warranted:
Depressed Mood (and/or) loss of interest or pleasure and at least four of the following:
- Depressed mood most of the day, nearly every day: sadness, emptiness, tearful
- Marked decreased interest in things you used to enjoy
- Significant weight loss or increased appetite
- Insomnia or desire to sleep much more than usual to escape events of the day
- Experience unusual restlessness
- Decreased energy nearly every day
- Feelings of worthlessness or guilt
- Diminished ability to think, concentrate or make decisions
- Recurrent thoughts of harming yourself or formulating a plan
