Anxiety
Do you, or someone you care about, experience extreme anxiety through any of the following symptoms?
- Sudden onset of intense apprehension, fearfulness or terror that may be associated
with feelings of impending doom; perhaps shortness of breath, palpitations,
chest pain, smothering sensations, and fear of losing control may be present
- Anxiety about or avoidance of places or situations from which escape may be difficult
or embarrassing in the event of panic-like symptoms
- Fear of a specific object or situation that leads you to avoidance
- Fear of social situations such that you seek to avoid them
- Experience compulsive thoughts and then engage in repetitive behaviors to reduce anxiety
- Re-experience an extremely traumatic event through smells, sounds, or places that bring back vivid recollections and result in anxiety; avoiding these smells, sounds and places reduces anxiety
- Excessive worry that is persistent and affects daily function
If you experience any of these symptoms, you may benefit from talking with one of our counselors.
